As a CPA, unless exempt, you are required to devote at least 20 hours to continuing education activities per year. CPAs are required to take 120 hours of continuing education activities per three-year rolling reference period, including 4 hours of structured training activities in professional ethics. At least half of the minimum required hours must be represented by verifiable CPD hours (60 hours of CPD every rolling three‐year period and 10 hours of CPD hours annually). CPA Ontario does not require CPD providers to be accredited with their organization in order to offer CPD hours to their members. The courses listed on CPD Insights are verifiable for CPD and can be counted towards the triennial CPD requirement. It is up to the professional to determine whether the activity qualifies as eligible towards their CPD requirement.
